The NLTTA 50mile champs / our Bury club 50mile champs took place yesterday near Keswick, course L5012. Sadly only 4 of us took part this year. Martin Lee and James Duffy DNF (plenty of people DNF or DNS). I set off in pouring rain and couldn’t see anything for the first hour thinking about pulling out. I clocked 2:07:36, hoped for a better time tb fair but it is still a PB by over 2min (I was the 1st women Vet, 4th overall). Gavin Wright did not disappoint with a very strong time of 1:56:21 and it looks like he is keeping his 50mile trophy for another year. Well done!
The competition yet again attracted top class racers. The course records were broken by quite a lot by a couple John Archibald and Emily Meakin who are riding crazy fast preparing for world TT champs atm.
