Our volunteer team

Simon Diggins from 360cycling is a qualified British Cycling coach. He has been involved with Bury Clarion for some years now and attends the sessions with his 2 children Toby & Molly. He has been instrumental in the club development, forward planning and worked hard to gain valuable funding.

360cycling’s Joe Cadwallader is the longest serving volunteer who helps organise sessions alongside Simon. As well as being massively into cycling himself he also brings his young son Dylan to the sessions who loves to compete in all cycling disciplines. He has loads of experience including racing and loves to encourage competitive cycling in the Club.

Paul VanDerKamp is a Bury Clarion ride leader who is extremely keen to encourage the children to develop and enjoy cycling, to provide options for children to join club rides when they are ready and have all the necessary skills to be safe on the road. He is an accomplished cyclist, leading several club rides a week and having cycled all over Europe following the Grand Tours.

Lucia Cronin started from local British Cycling’s Breeze and Bury Clarion ride leading, is a newly qualified Level 2 coach. She is passionate about encouraging beginners and is keen to get more girls into the club enjoying cycling. She specialises in the beginners , encouraging new children to learn essential cycling skills. She is the Welfare & Safeguarding lead for the club. Any concerns or issues can be directed to her via the club email.

Katherine & Neil Swithenbank have bought their racing experience and 2 boys Luke & Dan to the club. Katherine says ” I’ve been raised on a bike from before I can remember, watching my mum race and touring on tandems as a family. I started racing as a 14 year old school girl and managed to win a few national events as an under 16 and junior. I’ve always loved cycling with a club and I’m keen to encourage my 2 young boys to have fun on their bikes too! They have learnt so much and made great friends through the 360Bullets and I’m keen to help other kids to also have these opportunities “.

Neil loves being involved too, helping out with maintenance on the clubs bikes as well as attending sessions with their boys.
