When the weather is good it’s actually quite picturesque.

More gravel, more wet crossings, more mechanicals and drinking at altitude. Gift of beer at the campsite, Gisburn Old Road, Pennine Bridleway, two broken spokes and limp back on road to Rawtenstall Train station. Started and ended by rail.
Wildcamp above Ingleton, amazing descent under Ribblehead Viaduct, small roads then over Salter Fell in glorious weather. Almost home. Then Wildcamp above Ingleton, amazing descent under Ribblehead Viaduct, small roads then over Salter Fell in glorious weather. Almost home. #SecondCityDivide
The Way of the Roses
Day 1 was a dryish and hilly first day and we got the tents up At Appletreewick before the thunder started.
Day two was wet from the off but it began to ease off around Ripon. Day three was dry and went through the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds which reminded me of the South Downs. We got to Bridlington just before the rain, straight for the train, a hotel bed in Hull and back to Manchester tomorrow.
