The Young Rider’s Bursary is to nurture ability, encourage talent and to promote both competition and sporting excellence amongst the young riders of BCCC.
The bursary may be awarded to any junior or student Bury Clarion Cycle Club member, in pursuit of a cycling-related goal. The initial annual bursary available will be £1,000. The amount will be reviewed annually at the AGM and will depend on funds available.
We encourage ALL members to apply (or parents/guardians, if your child is too young to complete the application). There are no limits on the amount you can ask for, so long as you meet the criteria and provide full justification. We do however, reserve the right to award some of what has been asked for, not necessarily the full amount.
Each application will be judged on its merits, but it’s unlikely we would single out one person to receive the whole pot and leave other people with nothing, and far more likely that we would make a number of awards, to several worthy applicants.
To apply, please complete the application form.
If you have any questions please email the BCCC committee at contact@buryclarion.co.uk.
